Return & Refund Policies

All passes (except annual passes) and ticketbooks are non-refundable, non-replaceable and non-exchangeable. King County assumes no responsibility for items lost, stolen, misplaced, or delayed in the mail.

Annual (12 month) passes can be refunded or replaced, subject to existing regional refund and replacement policies shown below. This information is subject to change without notice.

  1. No refund or replacement will be made prior to five (5) business days after a pass is purchased.
  2. Refund and replacement requests must be made to the agency that issued the original pass.
  3. Refunds will only be issued to the original purchaser of the pass.
  4. Identification is required for any refund or replacement transaction.
  5. Metro refunds and replacements are issued by the Metro Customer Service Office at 201 South Jackson Street (phone 206-553-3060). If your employer purchased the pass from Metro, your employer may contact Metro's Pass Sales Office at 206-624-7277 for refund and replacement assistance.
  6. One replacement of a lost/stolen/misplaced annual pass is allowed.
  7. The following replacement fee, based upon the month in which the replacement request is received by Metro, is required for replacement of an annual pass:

  8. Refunds are subject to a $10.00 processing fee.
  9. Refunds are calculated based upon the date Metro received the pass to be refunded. The price of a full monthly pass is deducted from the purchase price for each month, including the month the refund request and pass is received by Metro, that has expired since the beginning month of the pass. No refunds are given on annual passes during the 11th and 12th months of use.
  10. Replacement fees will be refunded only if the original annual pass is found and returned to Metro within 30 days of the replacement purchase. This refund is subject to a processing fee of $10.00.
